Intense garnet rim leading to a beautiful cherry color.
A complex nose, highlighting the outstanding ripe red fruits initially, then changing into light hints of violet with mint and balsamic notes with toasted oak undertones (cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper with some vanilla ).
On the palate it is smooth and a little sweet, deep and well structured, very fruity, with sensations of red fruit (currants), toasted with ceder aromas, excellent soft, ripe tannins. Very long and complex, with aging potential
Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Harvested from a variety of 37 vineyards throughout 22 towns in Ribera del Duero, all between 750 and 1000 meters.
The winter of 2015 – 2016 was cold and dry. Spring was not very warm and with heavy rain in April and May, with some moderate sun. The summer was very dry and hot, with maximum temperatures above average. Weather wise, it was an almost perfect year for the vineyard. The harvest began on October 4 and ended on November 3 with Cabernet Sauvignon being the final grape harvested. The clusters came in healthy and without molding, as there was good weather and little rain. The yields were higher than expected yet the quality was excellent.
12 months in 225 liter French oak barrels, from selected forests. At the end of barrel aging, 46 different wines were produced with different characteristics, depending on the vineyard, varietal and oak. This wine became the final blend.
Bottled in early April 2018.
Before opening, the wine should rest for at least 48 hours before serving.
Store the wine bottles in a cool, dark place, between 14ºC – 16ºC, lying down, without sudden changes in temperature and in the absence of strong odors.
If storing the wines at home and not in a cellar, it is recommended to consume within a year.
Serve the wine at a temperature between 16ºC – 18ºC. Decant before serving.
Ribera de Duero
In the winery, all movement was done by gravity fed, without pumps and done gently. The grapes were de-stemmed and fermentation was done with whole berries.
